"My husband is not a pedophile" - TVC host clears the air on her controversial statement that she can't let her husband bathe their daughter (video)

TVC presenter, Morayo Afolabi-Brown spoke on her breakfast show, Your View, said she does not allow her husband to bathe with their daughter because of the increase in the number of fathers who sexually abusing their children.




She added that she trusts her husband completely, but she is not taking the chances.   Her statement broke out and led to a debate. Some criticized her by saying that she did not respect her husband indirectly and called it a pedophile, others have recalled that her daughter is also her husband's child so she should be allowed to take care of her for her. Some told her that if she did not let her husband bathe their daughter, then she should not be allowed to bathe their son.

But there were those who defended Morayo, noting that there are fathers that rape their daughters and these men are usually trusted by their wives, so they were willing to leave only the father to the girl. They add that abusers usually look innocent and no woman wants to believe her husband is the kind of person who would abuse their daughters, but that is all the time. 
In the midst of the furore her statement created, Morayo has responded to set things straight.
She started by saying:

My husband is not a pedophile, he's a highly responsible, decent man. He can never do anything to hurt any of his children.

She went on to add that her statement is not for her husband, but for those women whose husbands abuse their daughters, but they bury their heads in the sand because they do not want to associate with the stigma. She added that children should be taught borders and how to demand that their bodies and personal spaces be respected.
She explained:

Psychology has told us to teach children to respect their personal spaces and ensure that family members don't come too close.
We need to define what is too close as a child.
So, I'm glad the conversation has started, I'm glad we're talking about it. Let us understand that these are real life issues that are happening.

Morayo shared the video with a caption that further served to give clarity to her point.
