Beyoncé Hires Tyler Mitchell As He Becomes The 1st Black Photographer to Shoot a Vogue Cover for her September Feature

 Beyoncé is the cover of Vogue magazine’s upcoming September issue has been given unprecedented control over the cover by the editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour.

According to Huffington Post, Vogue is contractually obligated to give Beyoncé full control over the cover, the photos of her inside the magazine and the captions, which Beyoncé has written herself and are in long-form, according to two sources who are familiar with the agreement between Vogue and Beyoncé.

Beyoncé selected Tyler Mitchell ,a 23-year old photographer from Atlanta. The  photographer has shot covers for Fader and Office Magazine, directed film projects for clients such as Marc Jacobs and Ray-Ban.
He  photographed the Parkland shooting survivors for Teen Vogue’s ‘March for Our Lives feature’.
In an interview with The New York Times, he said “I depict black people and people of color in a really real and pure way, there is an honest gaze to my photos.”

India Strips Four Million People Of Citizenship

India was braced for unrest in its north eastern Assam state after the authorities declared some 4 million residents to be foreigners, effectively stripping them of their citizenship and raising fears of deportation.

The residents, mostly Muslims of Bangladeshi origin, were deemed ‘stateless’ as India published its draft list of citizens deemed to have entered the country before 1971, when millions fled Bangladesh's war of independence into the state.

The government released its final draft of Assam’s National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) in what many claim is as an effort by Narendra Modi, the Indian prime minister, to target Muslims hostile to his BJP nationalist party ahead of elections next year. Obafemi Awolowo University Honours Soyinka, Names Museum After Him

The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife,  honoured the Nobel Lauraete, Prof Wole Soyinka, with a museum named after him.

A storey building located in the heart of the university was the official residence of the playright as a lecturer in University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University.

The inauguration of the museum was part of the activities tagged “Ife festival of food and identity” by the Institute of Cultural Study of the university.

The festival attended by traditional rulers across the Yorubaland and head of some foreign missions, saw Prof. Soyinka performing symbolic cutting of yam to signal the commencement of the weeklong festival.

In his address at the occasion, the Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun expressed the state gratitude to the university for the honor done to Prof. Soyinka, whom he described as the proud son of Ogun state.

Manafort Is 1st Ex-Trump Aide To Go On Trial In Russia Probe

Paul Manafort will become the first of President Donald Trump’s former aides to go on trial, accused of bank and tax fraud by federal investigators probing Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election

 The trial could yield politically damaging headlines about a man who ran Trump’s campaign for three months and attended a June 2016 meeting with Russians offering damaging information on Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton that is now a focal point of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 14-month-old investigation.

“My guess is you will see O.J.-type frenzy at this court event,” said Michael Caputo, a former Trump aide and longtime Manafort associate, referring to the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder case. “I really hope the president continues to watch and make public comments about this case.”

JUSTICE: Grace Mugabe To Face Trial For Assaulting Model

A South African court has annulled a government decision to grant Zimbabwe's former First Lady Grace Mugabe diplomatic immunity in an assault case.The decision was "inconsistent with the constitution", the court ruled.

Mrs Mugabe was accused of assaulting a young model, Gabriella Engels, in a hotel in South Africa's main city, Johannesburg, in 2017. South Africa allowed Mrs Mugabe, 53, to return home after she applied for diplomatic immunity.

Mrs Mugabe said at the time that she had acted in self-defence after the "intoxicated and unhinged" model attacked her in a hotel room where her two sons lived.

The alleged assault took place about three months before the military takeover in Zimbabwe which saw Robert Mugabe resign as president after 37 years in power.

The court ruling comes on the same day as Zimbabweans go to the polls in the first vote since Mr Mugabe was ousted.

Ms Engels accused Mrs Mugabe of beating the "hell out of me" with an electric extension cord, in an incident which made international headlines.

The model said she was waiting for Mrs Mugabe's son, Chatunga, when the-then first lady burst into the hotel room and assaulted her, leaving her with a gash on her forehead and other injuries on her thighs.

The opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) said the ruling was a "great day for justice", and an arrest warrant should be issued for Mrs Mugabe.

"The South African government chose to put the politics of expediency above the rule of law," DA chairman James Selfe said.

The government has not yet indicated whether it will appeal against the ruling or accept it.

Lobby group AfriForum, acting on behalf of Ms Engels, challenged the South African government's decision to grant Mrs Mugabe immunity rather than prosecute her.

Rolls-Royce Cars Used By Queen Elizabeth And British Royal Family To Be Auctioned Next Month

Vintage Rolls-Royce cars used by Queen Elizabeth and members of the British royal family over the past seven decades are to be auctioned next month, at prices expected to reach up to US$2.6 million (S$3.5 million).

Top of the list at the sale by auctioneers Bonhams on Sept 8 is a 1953 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV State Landaulette, built in celebration of Rolls-Royce's Golden Jubilee and used by Queen Elizabeth.

It was kept in the Royal Mews from 1959 until 2002, said Bonhams who have listed the price tag at between US$1.3 million to US$2.6 million. It is one of only 18 of the models ever built by Rolls-Royce.

The Phantom IV is very similar to the bridal car used to transport Meghan Markle to Windsor Castle for her May wedding to Prince Harry.


The car, used by Meghan, now the Duchess of Sussex, and her mother Doria as they travelled from their hotel to St George's Chapel, was another of the 18 models built only for heads of state and the most notable of public figures, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

The collection of eight highly important Rolls-Royce motors, includes vehicles used by the late Diana, Princess of Wales, first wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles.

Also up for sale is the 1960 Rolls-Royce Phantom V "High Roof" State Limousine, which Bonhams has priced at between US$1.3 million and US$2 million.

The car was modified with high seats and large windows to enable the public to see the Queen as she was driven past on her visits and tours.

The limousine, also used by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on state occasions, is currently on display on the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh.

 DJ Khaled - who is opening for Beyonce and Jay-Z during the concert series' North American leg - shared an adorable video of his son Asahd running into his arms that was taken by Ben Hagarty.

They were backstage in the clip, and the 48-year-old rapper and 36-year-old singer looked like royalty in all-white ensembles.

Asahd  simply pushed straight past Beyonce and Jay-Z and Khaled reaches down and scoops up the one-year-old.

The headlining couple was all smiles throughout and loved the touching moment, being parents of three themselves.

Beyonce donned Balmain attireand thigh-high boots and a jewel encrusted top that covered her belly, while Jay was in an a 70s-style suit and a large pendant necklace hung from his neck.

Khaled wore baggy beige pants and donned a hoodie that featured various  patterns.

The Rather Die Young  singer's choice to keep her belly under wraps is especially notable since rumors have been circulating that she is pregnant with a fourth child.
 Beyonce and Jay Z are focused on their tour, which is set to hit Philadelphia, Pennsylvania .

The duo are set to tour throughout the rest of summer and into the fall.

There last show is currently scheduled to take place on October 4  in Seattle, Washington.

Floyd Mayweather Sr.,the father of boxing champ Floyd Mayweather tied the knot back in February at a secret ceremony in Las Vegas.

Sources shared with TMZ that Mayweather Sr. and Lois Ann Roberts said their “I Do’s” at the Stained Glass Wedding Chapel in Vegas on February 4. It was quick, but that’s how they wanted it and they’re happy with their decision.

I started IVF in 2012- Millen Magese Shared The Videos She Made While Trying For Her Child

On the 13th of July 2017,  Millen Magese welcomed her son after years of battling endometriosis- a condition resulting from the appearance of endometrial tissue outside the uterus and causing pelvic pain.


After 13 surgeries, 2 miscarriages, 4 IVF attempts with no single egg found and total 6 attempts at egg retrieval, her son came at her 6th IVF attempt and he clocked one year old some days ago.  Millen has decided to encourage other women with the videos she made while trying for her child.




She said,
My eggs should be at 22 milimeteres which would be the best eggs to use. I just want to continue encouraging other women out there. I understand this is not an easy journey. Keep trying. I did not receive good news from quite sometime now and today became one of my best days.


Just last month, I’ve been told that my ovaries were not responding to the medication and that was heartbreaking but they changed the protocol to four injections per day and they took me out of estrogen and now I have this good news and also on day 8, they were growing very slowly and the doctor even said to me that they might cancel the cycle and I said to them that this has been my history since I started IVF in 2012.
It has been my history that my ovaries always take so long to produce eggs and obviously, this is because of endometriosis. So, I have to beg them to say please this time, you have to let me continue with the cycle. So, sometimes you have to be able to explain to your doctor how your body works instead of cancelling the cycle. Ask them to give you another chance. Just go through it.
Don’t cancel your cycle at all and moreso, its also the time that you have to have faith and hope. You know, God can do so much. We can have doctors and everything that we have like treatments in this world but there are miracles out there and God is everything. God can change a situation that is supposed to be gone in a second and change it to be a positive procedure, so, I am very positive.
I have faith in God that this time, things will work for me and I see it. Its time for me and I’m ready to receive all the blessings that he’s sending to me. So, I’m sending this message to all of you ladies out there, this is my faith cycle, I’m ready to receive any news. If its bad news, I’m ready to receive it because it means the right time for me is not there yet. If its good news, it means God has decided to give me miracles because I believe every woman has a right to have a child.


I just want to go with God’s flow and I don’t want to think as a human being anymore because when you think as a human being, you ask a lot of questions. Don’t ever ask the question, why.
I promised myself that I would never attach any emotions to this cycle because I want to get things done and get over it. The last injection was super painful, I could still take another injection. My tears was more of Ooh God please change my story. And He did . My son is one today. Glory to God. Be there for someone,SPEAKOUT. We can find a cure together.

Hauwa Ojeifo has received her Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Her Majesty in Buckingham Palace in England.






Hauwa is the founder of She Writes Woman, a movement of love, hope and support for women that live with mental disorders.
Hauwa Ojeifo wrote,
“It has been such a LONG ROUGH journey, but all of it led me to this moment some nights ago. I am so incredibly grateful to the Almighty Allah for keeping me alive during the times I wanted to end it all. Rising above imposed standards and giving mental illness a voice has been one of the most fulfilling things I have been called to do.
I have been told that no one will marry me (lol) because of all that I have been open about. People have tried to take advantage of me because they felt my mental illness was something to take advantage of. I’ve been told to not air my dirty laundry in public and reduce my voice on uncomfortable matters that affect us all.
Today, it is a privilege to be a symbol of hope to everyone who has thought that their mental health is a death sentence. It isn’t. Seek help @shewriteswoman and hold on long enough, I promise it’ll be worthwhile.
This incredible honour is for every woman who has been raped, abused, violated, lost her self worth, battled PTSD, diagnosed with depression or bipolar or any other mental illness, experienced paranoia, delusions, psychosis and suicidal ideations. This is for everyone whoever had a dream and lost their way, lost their minds and gave up hope.
This is for those who feel their lives will never amount to anything and that death will be kind by taking them. This is for YOU if you absolutely know what it is to not see beyond today because your past holds you way too tightly. This is also for those we lost to suicide, we did them a great injustice. I hope they find peace.


So if you’re alive and reading this, you are worthy. You are loved. There’s help. There’s hope. There’s support. You will rise again. You are rising even though it doesn’t feel like it. Because you are, therefore I am. So thank you, for staying alive so far. Continue to stay alive.  If you ever feel like you can’t, please stay on my page till I convince you because if I can, you can too. Your path may not be mine, but I’d show you possibilities for your future and that’s all you’ll need.”
