Paralympic gold medalist Lauritta Onye Wanted To Be an Actress but She Became an Athlete and Now She Is Setting Super World Records


Lauritta Onye is a Paralympic gold medalist who has raised the country's flag at various international championships. Surprisingly, Lauritta has never been a sportswoman. She wanted to be a great actress, but her stature dissuaded her from her first love. Lauritta was 12 years old when she realized she was not going to grow as tall as her siblings. In 2011, she joined the Paralympic team and won the silver medal for Nigeria, marking the year she started winning for her country. At the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, Lauritta not only won the gold medal, but also set a new world record of 8.40m in the women's shot put sport -F40.
