Ambode’s Christmas party for Lagos kids

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and his wife,Bolanle, welcomed more than 2,000 children from the five state divisions at Ikeja House in Lagos for a fabulous end-of-year party. . Addressing the children, the governor noted that his administration was committed to continually improving the welfare of children in the state, stressing that he would do everything to keep hope alive for them. According to him, "Our work never stops, our workforce is engaged and every time we reach a destination, we set ourselves a new destination because in service delivery and the quest to be the best possible there will be no end line on the job, "he said. He wished the children a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year, praying that they would be taller than their parents. In her own remarks, wife of the governor, Bolanle, reminded the children that Christmas was the season of love, a moment of sharing and cheerfulness. She urged them to be good children, obedient to their teachers, to their parents, and respectful of elders, adding that humility was one of the greatest qualities of Jesus Christ. The governor's wife also instructed the children to concentrate on their studies and to keep a good company, noting that the bad company would corrupt good manners, while exhorting them to believe in their abilities, because there would always be reward for good conduct. All the children returned home with beautiful gifts and attractive prizes for the children who participated in various educational games. Some members of the state executive were present, as well as members of the Lagos State Women's Committee (COWLSO).
