Police To Pay Evans’ Brother-In-Law N2m- Court

The Federal High Court in Lagos in the morning issued a verdict against the police force in Nigeria in the basic enforcement claim filed by one of Mr Okwuchukwu Obiechin, who said he was a fugitive of the alleged murder of King Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans.  According to Punch, Justice Mohammed Idris, in a ruling Monday, said Obiechin was arrested and detained and the constitution, taking into account that the court warrant which the police alleged that he had received from the judiciary was improper.  In addition to ordering the police to immediately release Obiechin without delay or to sue him in court if he had any case against him, the court also granted N2m compensation for his damages to the police.  Tribunal Idris ordered the police to compete for public apology Obiechin, which will be published in two national diaries.
