The British man who was sentenced to three months in jail for a second man in Dubai was sentenced to $ 3,000 in prison today.
Jamie Harron, 27, from Stirling, was sentenced yesterday for lack of public indifference in the country of the Middle East.
The electrician worked in Afghanistan and was on a two-day stint in the United Arab Emirates when he was arrested in July.
He said he put his hand on the hips of Emad Tabaza's entrepreneurs to avoid leaking drinks in a crowded bar. His accused dismissed the lawsuit, but local prosecutors decided to resume the case.
Now, the Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates, Shaykh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, freed Harron, according to the Cluster in Dubai.
Harron is now free to leave the country after returning the passport, they added.
Radha Stirling, who is working for the detention in Dubai, said: "The case against him was dismissed, and the southern verdict that was ordered yesterday was abolished.
"We want to express our deepest gratitude to Shaikh Mohammed for his personal intervention in this case and for the long-term release of Jamie.❤ ❤ 2348050417551
