 Lanre Gentry, an American returnee who is into the hospitality business (he also sells cars) was said to have had three women, who all bore children for him before meeting and marrying Mercy Aigbe.
Though his first wife is divorced from him, he was said to have impregnated one Opeyemi Amuda, who had his first son, Lanre, for him.
Opeyemi, then a young girl was said to be a sister to his first wife’s friend. Gentry was said to have started dating the young girl who later became pregnant.

His first wife had just daughters then and he named Opeyemi’s son, Lanre Sources gathered that the boy is 18 years old, lives with his grandparents in Egbeda, Lagos while his mum is abroad and remarried with two other children.
Lanre, after Opeyemi, dated and married an Igbo policewoman who had also packed out of the house.
According to reliable sources, Mercy started dating him after his spilt from the policewoman and must have decided marrying him when he spoilt her silly with gifts and money. In fact, he was said to have gifted her with two cars (a Honda Element and Honda CRV) on the same day!
They were officially married in 2013.
Meanwhile, Mercy had always said in interviews that she was the second wife.
“How can she be the second wife when she is the fourth to bear children for him? He has children from different women and when Mercy had Juwon, Lanre called all his baby mamas that they should bring all his children to come and live under same roof with one another in his house but those women declined.  One of the reasons that caused fracas in his marriage to Mercy was infidelity from his part. It was gathered and alleged that Lanre was dating Opemititi, a young lady, who lives in Abeokuta but comes to Lagos regularly.
The lady also known as “Queen Stunner” was said to be very close to Mercy and visited her at home. There are allegations that the estranged husband of Mercy is having an affair with Opemititi.
For now, Mercy is said to have been separated from Lanre and moved out of the home.

  Lagos State Government is set to prosecute Mercy Aigbe’s Husband, Lanre Gentry over alleged Battery as the government have begun investigations into the matter.
Mercy has dragged her husband, Lanre to the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs for investigation and prosecution over alleged battery and assault.


 A top official revealed that the case has been brought to the attention of the body; stressing it is a matter of urgency due to the mandate given to the ministry by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to crack down on domestic violence especially against women.

“Truely, the case is with us here. It was reported here by the victim herself, and because of the governor’s zero tolerance for domestic violence, we are as a matter of urgency investigating the whole drama.
It is a good thing that it has also been brought to the public eye. We’re still very much on top of the matter and we’ll get it to its logical conclusion,” he said.

According to reports, the couple had been facing issues since 2013. The news of an alleged battery made rounds but the couple shut them down and even made a video to diffuse the rumours.

 

2. There’s a third-party involved.
So from all the new reports so far, one strange name has been constant. There’s an Opemititi, who is being described as Mercy Aigbe’s close friend/adopted sister/protege. On her Instagram bio, she describes herself as a former model, former banker, chronic fashion addict, interior designer extraordinaire, simple and extremely kind and drama Q.
From what we hear, Opemititi is all these and one more, Mr Gentry’s side chic. Once Mercy Aigbe found out about the betrayal from both parties, she cut off her relationship with the lady and engaged her husband in a battle that eventually led to end of their marriage.

 

3. Mercy is promiscuous?
It’s important that we raise the question again since this is the story her husband attempted to make us believe via a subliminal Instagram caption he has since deleted.
But according to a close family source that spoke to online magazine, The NET, Mercy’s whorish ways are the collective source of the problems in her marriage. This family member who willingly spilled these details has succeeded in making us believe until someone proves otherwise, that Mercy Aigbe had been living the runs girl since before her marriage to Mr Gentry and did not quit even after matrimony.
This person even went to add that some of Nigeria’s notable politicians are Mercy Aigbe’s biggest customers.

4. Blame it on the recession
This close family source clarified that the interest in politicians and big men was not entirely Mercy’s choice. It was necessary to sustain the big girl personae and Mr Gentry’s hotel business was not booming as usual, thanks to this harsh economic situation in the country.

Open House Lagos started with a debate on Thursday, 27th April 2017 at Lagos’ first certified building, Heritage Place, No. 21 Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos.


Well attended by Architects, Land Surveyors and urban design enthusiasts, the debate was declared open by the project manager of Open House Lagos 2017, Mrs. Olamide Udoma Ejorh.

Presenting a remarkable key note presentation was Mr. Olasupo Shasore SAN who took the audience on an interesting journey of the past, present and future of Architecture in Lagos. In a concluding remark, he described Lagos as a “pedestrian city that is not pedestrian friendly” hence certain policies have to be put in place and attended to in order to have the Lagos we all dream of.

The keynote speech followed by a panel discussion with Mrs. Kofo Adeleke, Mrs. Titi Adeleye, Mr. Tuoyo Jemerigbe and was moderated by Mrs. Annette Fisher. Discussions included the importance of resident friendly cities, urbanism and protecting structures that represents the heritage of our wcity.
