Nigeria’s Didi Akinyelure Wins BBC World News Komla Dumor Award @DidiAkin

Nigeria’s Didi Akinyelure who is an Anchor/Producer at CNBC Africa has been honoured with theBBC World News Komla Dumor Award for 2016.
The award was established in memory of Ghanaian BBC World News presenter, Komla Dumor who died in 2014 at the age of 41, aims to celebrate African Journalism and reward exceptional talent.
Josephine Hazlet, on chosing Didi,  said that she particularly excelled in telling business stories, an area the late Komla was  passionate about.
Akinyelure said, “He told the African story with so much passion for the continent, giving a balanced view and inspiring so many,” she said.
Akinyelure is set to start a three-month placement at BBC in London as part of her prize.
