On Saturday, May 2, Wema Bank Pls celebrated its 70years anniversary at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The bank flag off in 1945 unveiled its new coporate logo at the spectacular event, compered by , Bisi Olatilo.

The Managing Director of WEMA bank, Mr. Segun Oloketuyi,  said , "we are ‎glad to unveil a New Wema Bank that responds faster and better to customers’ needs while adapting more to ever changing dynamics of the industry."

"We are focused on moving Wema Bank to become one of the most efficient mid-tier banks in Nigeria in no distant future."
