Priest ,Andrew Soper Who S*xually Abused Boys At London School Jailed For 18 Years

A Catholic priest who sexually assaulted boys in an abbey school in the 1970s and 1980s was sentenced to 18 years in prison.  Andrew Soper, 74, formerly known as Father Laurence Soper, was a fugitive for five years after jumping on bail. An international warrant has been issued for his arrest.  He was sentenced earlier this month to 19 charges of rape and other sexual offenses against 10 boys at St Benedict's school in Ealing, West London. He is the fourth man in the school to have been found guilty of abuse.  After the verdicts of guilt, the school apologized unreservedly for the "grave wrongs of the past". Sensing Soper at Old Bailey on Thursday, Judge Anthony Bate said, "You are an intelligent man with gifts of scholarship and scholarship, however, as you acknowledged on cross-examination, showing a certain degree of of insight, that's not how you'll be remembered. "Your good qualities are completely overshadowed by the proven catalog of ugly abuse of which you are now held responsible.Your disgrace is complete." Soper's demise in Kosovo had been "meticulously planned," said the judge, adding, "You intend to live your days in the dark."
